Multiple Criteria Tool

The Multiple Criteria Analysis tool enables a group to evaluate a list of items such as solutions, projects, employees, or campaigns against a list of criteria.

Final results: weights, weighted scores, summary graph

Either or both of the lists could come from a previous step. Sometimes certain criteria are more important than others and should be weighted. Most commonly, the weighting is done by the participants before the analysis phase of the step begins. Alternatively, the weights can be decided in a previous meeting using Meetingworks tools.

Here are some examples for using Multiple Criteria Analysis:

  • Select a vendor based on weighted criteria from an RFP.
  • Create a work plan by weighting a list of appropriate criteria and then scoring a list of nominated projects.
  • After scoring options on a list of weighted criteria, build several scenarios for consideration.
  • Conduct competitive analysis using a list of competitors and several key measures of success

The result of a Multiple Criteria Analysis step is a list that can be used in subsequent steps and also in the final document. In addition, weighting graphs, summary graphs, individual item graphs, and scenarios can be saved.
